Baltimore Hispanic Friends Church

Brief History of the Church:  The church was founded on Sept. 22, 1993.  Nineteen people attended the first inaugural service in the home of Hermógenes Méndez who was the founding pastor.  In November of the same year, through the efforts of brother Fernando Ibañez, we obtained space in the United Methodist Church located at 501 Reistertown Rd. in Pikesville, MD.  There we grew to the average attendance of 250 in 2003.  For reasons of a lack of space, we left there in June of 2004 to our current location.  The church basically is made up of Hispanic immigrants from Mexico and throughout South America, Brazil, and the Caribbean, but we also have Native Americans and recently we received a family from Burundi, Africa.  We have a bilingual Sunday School and we began to translate our services into English.  Since 3 years ago, we began the project of "Home Cell Groups."  Our intention is to convert our church into a cell church.  We also have a plan of evangelism through our ministries.
